Public Square: A CNU Journal is a publication dedicated to illuminating and cultivating best practices in urbanism in the US and beyond. Powered by the Congress for the New Urbanism, Public Square is built to add depth and rigor to the practice of urbanism and improve our capacity for creating inclusive, resilient places—places that people love.

Public Square often publishes high-quality submissions with editorial discretion and this form is an opportunity to share your writing with our highly engaged New Urbanist audience. Submissions will be published at the discretion of CNU. Articles should meet a standard of readability and usefulness to an audience of urbanists and those with an interest in this field.

Submission requirements as follows:

  • Maximum word count of 1,500 words
  • Must include at least one horizontally proportioned high resolution image at the dimensions of about 1200 x 760 (larger images of similar proportions are okay) with a caption and photo credit
  • Additional images must include captions and photo credits
  • A 1-2 sentence bio about the author
  • A headshot to accompany the bio

If you have any questions about submitting your article, please contact Rob Steuteville at rsteuteville@cnu.org and Lauren Mayer at lmayer@cnu.org.
